Stealing from Obama
November 17, 2008
Former Israeli Prime Minister, Benyamin Netanyahu has stolen from President-elect Barack Obama. As seen in the screenshot below, the current candidate has basically plagiarized the Obama website (flipping the div structure though) and color/media marketing scheme. Its not a bad idea, shoot I even predicted that Obama’s awesome web 2.0 movement would make him president number 44!
Touching Strangers
November 14, 2008
HT to Sully on this.

Photo-artist Richard Renaldi posted a body of work called Touching Strangers. Its basically photos of random strangers who were asked to touch, hold, or embrace eachother for a photograph. Take some time to check out the whole collection, which is a great spectacle on the human community, IMO.
Check out the project online, HERE.
A New Day
November 11, 2008
Will.i.am’s new video:
I have to say, I find the renewed patriotism and celebration of Obama’s election win to be fascinating. If you just landed in the U.S. from an alien planet, you would probably assume that We the People were previously captive under some totalitarian regime and were freed by this Obama character. It is obviously just another shift of executive power but the hype surrounding it proves that this election meant an awful lot to black Americans and blacks everywhere.
It is also worth noting how art and creativity as well as alternative forms of communicating (web 2.0) were energized over the course of this election cycle. I think history will remember it as a miniature renaissance for both indie art and grassroots movements.

We’re pretty awesome

…note false arrogance. Anyways, my church got another write-up on ChurchMarketingSucks.com about our current building/vision campaign and the web/web 2.0 communication behind it.

Letter from 2008
October 30, 2008
If you READ Focus on the Family’s Letter from 2012, featuring ridiculous predictions and fear-mongering tactics from the rightest of the right wing, than you want to read the rebuttal from God’s Politics. It is a letter which would have been nice to read back during the 2000 election, one that foretold the truth about what 8 years in a Bush presidency would mean.
You can check it our HERE.
Visual Worshipper
October 29, 2008
I am adding a link to my blogroll, Visual Worshipper. I got directed to this site/blog by Mike Work and have wasted a lot of time the last few days reading archived posts and discussions about lighting, sound, and projection display.
Right now there is a great one going on about IMAG in worship. I happen to feel that it is too much and a distraction to the worshipper, but I do not mind it during message/drama.
Anyways, take time to check it out and feed your creative bid-ness.
Presidential Campaigns and art
October 28, 2008
I am so excited for this election cycle to go to sleep next week, but the one thing I will miss are the videos.
It seem that this election has brought out the best in indie art video and laying ALL POLITICAL CONTENT ASIDE, this emerging artform can be appreciated.
For exampe, I love the satirical writing and use of paper vectors in the first video and was very much impressed by the clean animated layers in the MC Yogi video. Perhaps one of my favorites that was made entirely in Adobe After Effects was the “Obama Messiah” video… if you have time check them all out.
Which ones are your favorites? You may post your favs without preconditions…
Wasssaaaauuuup!
October 25, 2008
I really detest it when I hear politicians and voters decry “what WILL happen” if the OTHER candidate is elected. Lately, is been, “if Obama wins, the USA will become socialist and sold to China before the beast with 10 heads eats us whole.” I just don’t like fear-mongering in general.
That being said, this was funny:
