What if…

August 19, 2008

…you were FORCED to choose a book of the Bible to be removed from the Holy Canon, which one would you pick and why?

My answer: Revelation.

I love Revelation for its imagery and overall message of Christ’s eternal reign. But unfortunately, it is easily the most misunderstood book in the Bible.

Thats my vote, whats yours?

    1st Maccabees.

I love when the people of God stand up for their rights, but not when they massacre people to do so. Amen?

nice choice but I think Protestant Christianity already removed it for you

Umm.. I would have to say Proverbs. Everytime I read that chapter I always get something new and I can always apply it to my life.

The only part of the bible that I need is the maps, the rest could be deleted.

I would actually agree with you on Revelation.

While I like reading that we are ultimately going to over come and go to this incredible place and be with God, I get tired of people asking me nonsensical questions about the end of the world based on an episode of South Park that they saw that pulled imagery from Revelation.

Maybe Numbers too. If you’ve ever read through the Bible with children… Numbers is a very painful book.

@Mark… somehow I knew that would come from you

@Keith… yeah, Numbers is brutal, reading it to a child is a violation of that child’s human rights! :)

The Gospel of John. What’s up with that guy anyways?

OK, totally joking….ummmm….I say Habbakuk. Only because I can’t remember a time where I read one thing in Habakkuk. Hopefully you don’t think less of me now….I’ll go read it right now if it makes you feel better.

@Jason you are less of a Christian in my eyes… go read some Habbakuk and save your eternal soul!

Got something to say?
